About

A Holy Mission
Like No Other

Created by the Jesuit fathers at the beginning of the 20th century, the Cercle de la Jeunesse Catholique, the CJC, wanted to raise awareness among young people of the time about social and cultural issues.

The CJC experienced rapid development and persevered in its double social and cultural mission during the war in Lebanon.

After the war, the cultural aspect was relayed by the various activities organized by the Saint Joseph Center and by the Saint Joseph University.

As for the social mission, it was pursued. However, since the 2019 crisis, the latter has recognized a rise linked to the misery that has hit Lebanon; a group of about 50 volunteers, in the 2 centers of Beirut and Zahleh, come to the aid of nearly 800 families in situations of extreme poverty.

The CJC mainly specializes in the field of food with the distribution of food boxes and cooked meals and health
with the development of a dispensary.
